I absolutely love a bar cart. I love that it is temporary or permanent. I love that it is multi functional. I love that it can change from a desk, a side board, a craft table, to a bar in the matter of minutes. I love how easily they can be styled to suit the season or occasion. If it’s not crystal clear by now, I love everything about a bar cart!
Last weekend was the last weekend of summer and it was hot outside as it usually is in Texas. But something crazy happened, it rained. It rained all day and with the rain came a breath of fresh mildly crisp air. It was prime weather for a cool white in a vintage etched glass on the patio. So, I got my bar cart all gussied up and ready to go!
There are a few things that all bar carts should have, no matter the style. One of those items is a beverage tub. I used a chinoiserie bowl for this one. Don’t be afraid to use unique items. If your vessel tends to sweat water from the melting ice, you can put a towel under it or a tray to catch the excess water.
Another item that is great to have on a bar cart is some sparkling water. I am partial to San Pellegrino. I love the taste and feel like it looks so pretty as a display! San Pellegrino is a great mixing agent or stand alone drink. Mix it with some grenadine, lime, and Titos for a quick cocktail. Serve it along with some lemon or lime slices for a great non-alcoholic spritzer.
In addition to some fabulous liquid options. You will want to have all of the supplies to happily transport your drinks to your guest’s mouths. Glasses are a necessity. Low ball tumblers, high ball glasses, wine glasses are all great choices. You will just want to have a few of each glass that is appropriate for the drink options you are offering.
There some other fun accessories that will make your evening pretty and functional. Colorful paper straws are fabulous for sipping out of tall glasses. Cocktail napkins are a must for every drink. They are a fun way to add some style or a theme to your occasion. No matter the style, bar carts make an ordinary drink way more special!
I have curated some of my very favorite bar essentials on this bar cart essentials dream board. Go check it out!
I hope you are inspired to style a bar cart and enjoy an evening with friends and family soon! Cheers to you!
